Safety
DUROLANE is an incredibly safe treatment and NASHA™ gels have been used for over 20 years in the health and beauty industry with few reactions. NASHA™ gels are contained in the only hyaluronic acid derived products that have been safely used in paediatric medicine1.
The most commonly noted side effect with DUROLANE is post injection pain which can be significant in a small percentage of patients. Whilst every precaution is taken to ensure that DUROLANE is injected into the joint space, osteoarthritis can cause joint deformation which can make injection placement difficult. Subsequently if DUROLANE is injected into the tissues surrounding the joint it can cause some transient pain which should subside within a couple of weeks.
